Project description
The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant is 30 years old and has reached the point where it needs maintenance.
We supplied integrated bolt tensioners shared by all six units of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, and this is the first time they will be used during the 30-year overhaul of the plant.

At the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant.
High-Pressure Cylinder Split Bolts for Steam Turbines
Quantity: Unit 1 has 60 bolts, involving 3 different specifications.
Technical Requirements: The goal is to precisely control the bolt elongation (0.5±0.05mm), rather than simply the torque value. For critical high-temperature and high-pressure components, “elongation control” is more important than “torque value.”
Main Steam Valve Flange Bolts
Technical Requirements: Also focusing on controlling bolt elongation, with a design value of 0.5±0.05mm.
Based on the above technical requirements,
Our hydraulic bolt tensioner team overcame challenges such as tight delivery schedules and complex interfaces, completed the development and application of many key components, and optimized and upgraded the entire machine in many aspects.

With the remaining tensile strength of the final 58 main bolts meeting the requirements, the 30-year overhaul of Unit 1 at the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed.

The CGN Research Institute provided full support throughout the process, while operators from the Nuclear Island Static Main Equipment Department of the Operating Company carried out the operations. The equipment demonstrated complete functionality and superior performance throughout the entire enclosure closing process. Our bolt tensioners have achieved perfect results in the supply and application of our bolt tensioners in in-service CPR unit projects.
