Project description
The 981 offshore drilling platform is China’s first deepwater drilling platform. It was manufactured at CNPC’s Liaoning Panjin petroleum base and deployed in the South China Sea. The platform was assembled in sections, with the key challenges being synchronized weighing, skidding, and load-out.
Drawing on years of research and production experience, TorcStark deployed synchronized jacks, load cells, and an 18-point synchronous lifting system. The jacks were evenly positioned beneath the offshore platform, with load cells mounted on top of each jack. Skidding beams were placed above the jacks and lifted into position by the synchronous lifting system. The load cells recorded the weight, after which the beams were lowered. Skidding and pulling jacks then moved the platform to complete the skidding and load-out operation.
The entire project was completed using TorcStark’s weighing, lifting, and skidding equipment and received recognition from leaders across multiple departments of CNPC.
