Is The Number Of Teeth Of A Hydraulic Ratchet Wrench As Many As Possible?
The composition and application scenarios of ratchet wrenches
Hydraulic ratchet wrenches are usually used to tighten or remove bolts or nuts in narrow or difficult-to-access positions. The ratchet wrench is rotatably connected to the end of the operating rod.
The ratchet wrench includes: a weight connected with the operating rod, the weight can slide along the length of the operating rod, and the operating rod at the front of the weight has a front weight bearing part that blocks the collision of the weight. Alternatively, the operating rod at the rear of the weight has a rear weight bearing part that blocks the collision of the weight.
Does the hydraulic ratchet wrench have as many teeth as possible?
The more the number of teeth, the finer the teeth, and the smaller the torque that can withstand, but the shorter the rotation distance of each tooth, the smaller the angle.
For example, the 72-tooth is 5 degrees, and the 45-tooth is 8 degrees. The fewer the number of teeth and the thicker the teeth, the greater the torque that can be withstood. It is not rigorous to simply say how good the teeth are or how few teeth are good, and the tools need to be selected reasonably according to the specific requirements.
Relatively speaking, the more teeth, the easier it is to control in a small space. If the number of teeth is large, the teeth inside will become thinner, and the teeth will easily break when force is applied. On the contrary, if the number of teeth is small, it is not easy to break when force is applied, and it is not easy to control in a small space. This is about the same nature as the gearbox on the car. The high-speed gears are easy to break, while the low-speed gears will not. Each has it’s own benefits.
Generally speaking, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 refers to the side length of the square interface on the wrench. 1/4 represents the size of the square head is 6.3MM, 3/8 represents 9.5MM, 1/2 represents 12.5MM. The choice of hydraulic wrench depends mainly on the magnitude of the torque value.
1/4’’ small fly wrench is especially suitable for small-size sleeve loose nuts below 14mm.
3/8″ mid fly wrench, suitable for matching with a socket within 24MM.
1/2” large fly wrench, with relatively large torque, suitable for working with sockets within 32mm.
Application of hydraulic ratchet wrench:
When the size of the screw or nut is large or the working position of the wrench is very narrow, a hydraulic ratchet wrench can be used. The swing angle of this kind of wrench is very small, which can tighten and loosen screws or nuts.
When tightening, control the torque pump to turn the hydraulic ratchet wrench clockwise. A support rod is installed on the square sleeve. When the wrench is pulled back in the opposite direction, the strut slides out in the inclined surface of the ratchet teeth, so the screw or nut will not follow the reverse rotation. If you need to loosen the screw or nut, just flip the ratchet wrench and control the torque pump to turn the ratchet wrench counterclockwise.
The hydraulic ratchet wrench turns the nut back and forth, which is convenient, fast, labor-saving and time-saving. It can be loosened and unloaded and tightly installed. It has strong applicability and can easily adjust the angle of use. The size of the ratchet wrench, the largest is 1/2, the smallest is 1/4.
The full name of hydraulic ratchet wrench is hydraulic ratchet socket wrench, which is one of the wrenches. The purpose of the wrench is to turn nuts, bolts, screws and other parts, and it is to remove the parts or make the parts stronger. As we all know, there are many kinds of wrenches.
So what is the difference between a ratchet wrench and an ordinary wrench?
The most important thing about a ratchet wrench is that it has a ratchet ring on it, which can be directly turned on the screw when in use, and the screw can be screwed on or removed. When ordinary wrenches are used in some corners, they must be taken down to adjust and then turned after turning to a certain angle. Some screws with a small angle need to be rotated continuously, which is very laborious.
In daily use, it is necessary to develop a good habit of regular maintenance and cleaning of hydraulic ratchet wrenches. If you are not a professional maintenance person, we do not recommend that you disassemble the wrench for cleaning, because if you do not understand the structure of the wrench and have no auxiliary maintenance tools, it is easy to cause the wrench to be inaccurate.
Torc Stark is here to teach you a good way to clean and maintain without disassembling.
Pour the oil through the connection port of the wrench and the hydraulic torque pump. When filling, press the trigger from time to time to allow the oil to enter completely. Then connect the hydraulic torque pump to press the wrench in the forward and reverse directions, so that the dirt in the wrench can be sprayed out. After the above actions are repeated several times, the dirt in the wrench can be washed away.
The appearance should be kept clean. Add lubricating oil to the three-point control valve regularly. Drain the accumulated water in the three-point control valve regularly. The air outlet filter of the wrench body needs to be cleaned twice a week. The inside of the wrench body is maintained at least once every six months. If further maintenance is required, it is not recommended to disassemble the transmission part by yourself.
Regularly calibrate the hydraulic gauge and the hydraulic-torque relationship to meet the working requirements.
Through the long-term maintenance of the hydraulic ratchet wrench, you will find that, in fact, the most important way to extend the service life of the tool is to maintain the tool on a regular basis. Through reasonable and effective maintenance, the working efficiency of the tool will be greatly increased.
